New version 2.12n of plugin Googlemaps is released. This version added/solved:
Added Google Earth layers
Added labels on markers, dynamic content in Geoxml
Added switch off Earth and terrain maptype
Made possible to show kml sidebar in lightbox
Solved problem with pagebreak
Solved sorting of kml sidebar
Solved problem when span is around coordinates
Solved problem with shadow width in Geoxml
Move images of Geoxml to own plugin control
Changed url to signup for a key
It can be downloaded for Joomla 1.0 and Joomla 1.5 .

Welcome at the site with documentation and examples of the Plugin Googlemaps.
I hope this site will provide you the necessary information to solve problems or give ideas how to use the plugin in your site. Click read more for more general information of the installation and usage of the plugin .

You can now show labels on markers and polylines/gons (version >= 2.12n):
kmlpolylabel - opacity in percetage for polylines/gons
kmlpolylabelclass - The class for the labels to set the style of font, size, colour etc.
kmlmarkerlabel - opacity in percetage for icons
kmlmarkerlabelclass - The class for the labels to set the style of font, size, colour etc.

You can add google latitude to the map. Goto the page: http://www.google.com/latitude/apps/badge and set the correct settings and copy the public kml-feed as url for the plugin. Best is to add centerlat/lon and zoom level to prevent to see grey tiles or use version 2.12o with correction on automatic zoom.
For example:
{mosmap kml='http://www.google.com/latitude/apps/badge/api?user=8532737034203011819&type=kml'|corzoom='-4'}

You can show gpx files with the plugin. You have to use the kml-renderer Google.

It now possible in some location to show Aerial Perspective Imagery or Bird view (version >= 2.12m):
